Crafting Jargon?
ATC - Artist Trading Cards are individual art miniatures which pass hand to hand. The only rule for these cards is their 2.5 by 3.5 inch size. They should be traded, not sold, and that they be created as unique works. Artists generally sign and date the back, and may also include a title and contact information. CARDSTOCK - you will sometimes see basic card referred to as cardstock.
DEACOUPAGE - the craft of layering paper with glue or sticky pads.
DIE-CUTS - shapes cut out by a machine. There are machines available on the market for you to make your own die-cuts.
EMBELLISHMENTS - all the items used to decorate your card for example buttons, brads and card toppers.
EMBOSSING - creating a raised image. It could be dry embossing which involves using a light box or embossing board to create the raised image with an embossing tool. Or heat embossing, where you stamp your design and use embossing powders then heat the image to melt the powder.
HEAT GUN - This produces a jet of heat that you direct on to a stamped image.
MATTING - this is where you stick one peice of card on to another, leaving a small border all around.
PEEL-OFFS - stickers in all shapes and colours which you can use to instantly enhance your card.
